Idyllic long spring days
In many ways, early and late summer gets the best of Albufeira
weather. Cheap, early-season holidays in Albufeira will enjoy gloriously long, sunny
days and avoid the heat of July and August. Evenings are agreeably comfortable and
will require some warm clothing for sitting outside. Albufeira weather is milder
than the Costa del Sol in Spain and avoids the occasional strong winds of the Costa
de la Luz and western Algarve resorts like Sagres. Do take care during the midday
hours in July and August as the temperature can go considerably higher than the average
and the sun can be unremitting. While we recommend a trip into the Algarve interior
to atmospheric towns like Silves, Monchique and Lagoa, do bear in mind that the weather
will feel much hotter.
Warm winter golf sunshine
An exceptional amount of year-round sunshine makes Albufeira
an ideal destination for winter sun holidays close to home. Albufeira winters are
remarkably mild, with winter day temperatures rarely dipping below a very pleasant
15º. It is little wonder Albufeira attracts keen golf enthusiasts. After a cool start,
the Algarve’s famous golf courses see plenty of sunshine and warm days ideal for
relaxed golf holidays. Highs of 20º are not uncommon on winter afternoons.
Exceptionally sunny Algarve beach resort
Albufeira in many ways receives the best
of the weather in the Algarve: hot, dry and exceptionally sunny, but rarely unbearable.
The Algarve is one of the sunniest regions in Europe. Rainfall is extremely low in
Albufeira and in the Algarve in general. Almost all the rain falls in the winter,
and even then in short bursts. Summer holidays in Albufeira are guaranteed virtually
uninterrupted sunshine. While Albufeira beaches are lapped by the Atlantic Ocean,
the climate is decidedly Mediterranean. Albufeira holidays are ideal for watersports,
with fairly constant breezes and warm seas that reach over 20º in the summer.
